OUR STORY
Yalo Yalo Yumm began with a simple wish —
to bring back a taste I remember.
MEMORY
A taste from my school days. Nasi lemak from the roadside, the kampung, and simple stalls near school, often wrapped in banana leaves. As time moved forward, flavours changed too. Somehow, the sambal I remembered became harder and harder to find.
So I started searching for that taste again.
THE FLAVOUR
Our sambal carries the sweetness of Gula Melaka — one of Malacca's treasured ingredients and a flavour deeply connected to my memories. It may taste different from the sambal you're used to, and that's exactly what I hope you'll discover here.
“Yalo” simply means “That's right!”
— a little expression of recognition and agreement.
INVITATION
This may be your first time tasting nasi lemak this way. You may find it a little different, or even a little unexpected.
I simply hope that among our guests, there will be people who understand and enjoy this flavour too.
